Burnilda Buchholz

Burnilda Buchholz, 89, of Coal Valley, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006, in her home surrounded by her family.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at New Hope Baptist Church, Coal Valley, with the Reverend Jim Grieme officiating. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Burnilda Maxine Foor was born November 3, 1917, in Lakewood, Illinois, the daughter of Franklin Pearl and Gaynell (Scritchlow) Foor. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, where she met John Leonard Buchholz whom she married on August 10, 1941, in Effingham, Illinois.
Burnilda operated the family farm in Coal Valley for 50 years, retiring in 2003. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Coal Valley, Rock Island County Farm Bureau, the Studebaker Club, Friendship Force, and the IH Farmall retirees Club. She enjoyed bible study and reading religious books and articles.
Burnilda is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leonard; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Heilwagner of Orion, and Sandra and Richard Perry of Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Michele Buchholz of Colona, Illinois, and Phillip and Jayna Buchholz of Coal Valley; grandchildren and their spouses, Pamela Heilwagner, Kristine Riggs, Timothy and Lori Heilwagner, Andrew and Dana Buchholz, Shannon Buchholz, David and Mary Buchholz, Emily Buchholz, and Shannon Clark; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Chris Boyd of Hutsonville, Illinois, and Diana and Charlie McNear of Tower Hill, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Sylvia Foor; a brother, Carl Foor; a sister, Almeda Spesard, a sister-in-law, Rosemary Foor; and a son-in-law, Raymond Heilwagner, Jr.
