Bruce J. Anderson, 91, of Moline, Illinois, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, November 9, 2014, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 21st Avenue, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Burial is in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements.

Bruce was born in Terril, Iowa, on November 8, 1923, to the late Frank and Esther (Paulsen) Anderson. He graduated from Terril High School and received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Iowa State University in 1948. On May 13, 1945, he married Elaine Iris Buns in Terril, and they shared 69 years together.

Bruce was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, and completed 35 missions as a pilot of a B-24 Liberator. He worked for Iowa Illinois Gas & Electric Co. and retired as Director of Industrial Relations after nearly 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and John Steelman of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and Mary Jane and Doug Wolff of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Jay Anderson of Geneseo, Illinois; four grandchildren, Lisa, Brian, Kelly and Jim; and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank, Donald and Paul Anderson, and sister Ruth Cook.
