Moline, Illinois Services for Brian R. Laverenz, 57, of Moline, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline. The Reverend Richard Kraft will officiate. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, 601 21st Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church. Mr. Laverenz died Saturday, October 26, 2002, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. He was born December 13, 1944, in Moline, the son of Raymond and Berta (Hayman) Laverenz. He graduated from Moline High School and attended Black Hawk College. He lived his entire life in the Quad Cities, except for a three-year enlistment in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Irina Makarova on May 26, 2001, in Hawaii. For the past 24 years, Brian was an employee of the Rock Island Arsenal as an Equipment Specialist, traveling throughout the country in support of numerous technical military projects managed by the United States Army. He was a member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline, and a former member of the Moline Jaycees and Moline American Legion Post #246. His greatest passion was his love of his family and his service to his country. He was fascinated with lighthouses, loved to scuba dive, and enjoyed traveling, antiquing, golfing, fishing and shopping. Brian is survived by his wife, Irina; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian C. and Celia Laverenz of Guyton, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and Mark Poling of Newport Richie, Florida; six grandchildren, Rachael, Olivia, and Emily Laverenz and Sheree, Victor Allen, and Carissa Solis; his mother, Berta Laverenz of Moline; and his sister, Mary Gail Laverenz of Moline.
