Beverly Mae Birchell Zink, 87, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Viola, Illinois, died May 10, 2020.
A visitation for family and friends will be 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 25 in the CE Building at New Windsor Presbyterian Church, New Windsor, Illinois. Burial took place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
The former Beverly Mae Anderson was born February 28, 1933, in New Windsor, the daughter of Harold and Stella Mae (Falline) Anderson. She was married to Emmanuel “Mannie” Birchell for over 50 years. She later married Robert Zink, Sr. Both husbands preceded her in death. Along with her husband, Mannie, she owned and operated the Standard Station in Viola, Illinois, for many years. She also worked at both Scotty’s and Publix in Zephyrhills.
She enjoyed collecting angels and listening to live music, preferably country. She also loved watching the Tampa Bay Rays and Bucs. In her younger years, she was active in bowling leagues, card clubs, and watching her husband, Mannie, in all his hobbies.
Beverly is survived by five daughters, Brenda (Benjamin) Knoche of Lowden, Iowa, Debra (John) McGaughy of Moline, Illinois, Karen (John) Clark of Pensacola, Florida, Sandra (Kenneth) Benningfield of Andalusia, Illinois, and Cheryl (Edward) Oliver of Coal Valley, Illinois; a stepson, Robert (Kate) Zink, Jr. of The Villages, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
