Beulah M. Magnuson

Beulah M. Magnuson, 88, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Amber Ridge Memory Care, Moline.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Gospel Assembly Church, 2700 53rd Street, Moline, with The Reverend Roger Kaufman officiating. Due to the cemetery's inability to open the grave on Saturday, burial is 10 a.m. Monday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.

The former Beulah Magdalene Tipton was born April 14, 1925, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Georgia Hood Tipton. She married Oscar Magnuson on May 18, 1956, in Comanche, Iowa. He died August 16, 1992. She was an active member of Gospel Assembly Church, where she was the Bible school director for many years, and was an avid reader. During WW II, she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" at North American Manufacturing Company in California, on P-51 Mustang fighter planes.

Beulah is survived by two sons, Kevin Magnuson and Brian Magnuson, both of Port Byron, Illinois, and a brother, Samuel Tipton of Ottawa, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings, Margaret Bruce, and Paul, Dean, and Bill Tipton.
