Betty M. Parr, age 74, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, entered into her eternal joy with Jesus on Monday, January 28, 2013, in Royal Oaks Care Center, Kewanee, Illinois.
There will be no public services in Illinois, but a memorial service will be held in Johnson City, TN at a later date. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, Ill., is assisting the family. Monitary donations may be made to Tri Cities Baptist Church at 171 Promise Land Drive, Gray, Tennessee, 37615, to be used for ?Mission Work? in memory of Betty M. Parr.
The former Betty Maryann Brown was born February 24, 1938, in Greeneville, Tennessee, the daughter of Roy and Myra (King) Brown. Betty spent most of her life as a housewife in Illinois and was married to Alford Don Parr on December 6, 1954.
She loved to be near water and talked of walking on the Mississippi River. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bingo. If you like country cooking she made the best soup beans, cornbread, and fried potatos.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Sandra ?Sunny? Squibb of Johnson City, TN, a son, Calvin Parr, of Northern California, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several cousins located in Ca., Ill., and TN, and a special friend, Liz Rogers of Colona, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kay Everett, her husband, and a beloved companion, Donald Keegan.
