Betty M. McRoberts

Betty McRoberts, 88, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, January 19, 2023, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. and friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon immediately following the services. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

The former Betty Mae Kennelly was born January 10, 1935, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Joseph and Mae (Simkins) Kennelly. She attended Western Illinois University and married Donald McRoberts on October 22, 1954, in Macomb. She was employed by Peterson Fixtures for several years. She enjoyed playing cards, doing craft work, crocheting, knitting, working outside, and flowers, and had a love for cats.

Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald; two sons, Michael McRoberts of Moline, and David McRoberts of Johnston, Iowa; and four grandchildren Leslie, Jacob, Jaron, and McKenna McRoberts. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Eugene, Virgil, and Teddy Kennelly, and sisters Mary Jo Johnson and Laura Lee Aiken.
