Bettie Ann Beldin, 84, of East Moline, formerly of 23rd Avenue, Moline, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Moline.
Services are 10:30 AM Friday at First Christian Church, Moline with Dr. Kenneth Kline officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Bettie Ann Hallquist was born September 23, 1920, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie and Sophia (Young) Hallquist. She married Joseph Oscar Beldin on June 9, 1942, in Louisiana, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1982. Prior to starting a family, Betty was employed as a receptionist for Dr. Heilfrich. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church, Moline, where she served on numerous committees and boards, was active in several women’s groups, and was a church elder. She was a member of the red hat society and enjoyed painting.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Jerry Ita of Wever, Iowa; son, Joseph R. Beldin of Moline; granddaughter, Tara; grandson, David and his fiancée, Rebecca, all of Wever, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Loretta Hallquist of East Moline; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
