Moline, Illinois Berta Mary Hayman Laverenz, 89, of Moline, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 2:20 p.m. in Trinity Medical Center, Moline. Services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. She was born September 8, 1914, in Moline, to Charles L. and Josephine C (Stevens) Hayman. She was born at the farm house on Bridgelane in Moline belonging to her grandmother, Bertha Amilia Hayman. She graduated from Moline High School in 1932, and Moline Hospital School of Nursing in 1936. She worked as a Registered Nurse in private duty, office and staff nursing for 40 years, retiring from Moline Public Hospital in 1976. She married Raymond Albert Laverenz on July 3, 1938, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. They were married by Reverend Walter Tillberg. Raymond died August 13, 1974. Berta was a 65 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and belonged to Moline Public Hospital Alumni, Moline Public Hospital Retirees, Rock Island County Home Extension Unit, and was a member of AFSCME and AARP. Surviving family members are her daughter, Mary Gail Laverenz of Moline; a grandson, Brian Charles Laverenz of Guyton, Georgia; a granddaughter, Jodie Laverenz Poling of New Port Richie, Florida; and six great-grandchildren.
