Bert A. Morgan

Alexis, Illinois Masonic funeral services for Bert A. Morgan, 93, of Alexis, will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Bert Morgan Memorial Fund. Bert died on Saturday, October 12, 2002, at the Mercer County Hospital, Aledo. Bert was born on January 3, 1909 in rural Burgess, Illinois, to John Francis and Daisy Morgan. He was a graduate of Aledo High School. He married Evelyn I. Martin on December 22, 1930 in Iowa. Bert owned and operated the Red & White Grocery in Burgess for 12 years and Alpha for 3 years. He retired from A & P Grocery in Galesburg after 25 years of service. Bert was a 50-year member of the Woodhull Masonic Lodge. He was an active bridge and pitch player. He also enjoyed golfing and traveling with Evelyn. They had traveled to all the contiguous United States and Canada. Bert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; a daughter, JoAnne Kozelichki of Alexis; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Terri and Touie White of Lee, Illinois; Patty and Ken Boehle of Ashton, Illinois; Roselyn and Darrell Isley of Roscoe, Illinois; Joe and Debbie Kozelichki of Aledo; Marie and Andy McCannon and Trudy and Brian Dvorak all of Ashton, Illinois.
