Matherville, Illinois Bernal ''Tude'' Frye age 90 of Matherville died Tuesday, June12, 2001 at Mercer County Hospital. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Preemption United Methodist Church, visitation will be held Thursday Evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family. Bernal Howard Frye was born December 10, 1910 in Viola, IL. The son of Amiel and Leota (Essely) Frye. He married Leona Anderson, after her death he married Darlene Douglas. Mr. Frye had been employed as a coal miner, and as a commercial fisherman. He retired as a painter from American Air Filter Corporation. Mr. Frye enjoyed talking with anyone who would listen, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. Survivors include his wife Dolly of Matherville; children and their spouses, Sharon and Floyd Clark of Boise, AZ, Lonn Frye of Chicago, IL, Howard Frye of Matherville, IL, Susan and Marvin Smith of Castleton, IL, Gary and Nancy Frye of Jacksonville, IL, Danny and JoLane Frye of Jacksonville, IL, Jyla and William Vipond of Milan, IL, and Tamera Matthews of Keithsburg, IL, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Bernice Smith of Florida.
