Benjamin L. Slover, 82, formerly of Kewanee, Illinois died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Aledo Health and Rehabilitation Center, Aledo, Illinois. Funeral Services are 11:00 AM, Monday at Trimble Funeral Home in Moline, with Pastor Rick McReynolds of the Milan Foursquare Church officiating. Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be given to Aledo health & Rehab, Bridges Unit. Benjamin Leroy Slover was born March 25, 1921 in Ulah, Illinois the son of Lee and Cleo (Wiley) Slover, he served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married the former Ethel Mae Hamilton on August 10, 1947 in Kewanee, and she preceded him in death on January 1, 1993. Mr. Slover farmed his own farm near Kewanee all of his life, retiring in 1974. He enjoyed spending his time playing cards, fishing, and watching baseball. Survivors include his nine daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Steven Emge of Paulden, Arizona, Connie and Michael LaBonte of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jean and Richard Chellos of East Moline, Illinois, Cheryl and Mark Parpart of Garden City, Missouri, Crystal and Jerry Wilson of Silvis, Illinois, Patricia and Richard Custin of Escondido, California, Barbara and Peter McCumber of Carthage, North Carolina, Bernice and Martin Engh of Silvis, Illinois, three sisters and their spouses, Arlene and John Cromien of Galva, Illinois, Dorothy Karl of Galva, Illinois, Mary and Bryce Nordstrom of Bishop Hill, Illinois, nineteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Wyatt Marshall Williams
