Ben A. Cox, 100, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois

Graveside Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery, with Pastor Rod Stalsberg officiating. The Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, at 12:45 p.m. Friday.

Ben Aaron Cox was born July 21, 1913, in Abbeville, South Carolina, the son of Bradley and Mary (Porter) Cox. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He went on to work for the United States Army Signal Corps in communications for 23 years, retiring in 1955.

Ben accepted Christ after his pilgrimage tour in Israel in 2010, after which he was baptized and became a member of Colona First Baptist Church.

He was a member of the Moline American Legion Post #246, and the Moline VFW Post 2153.

Ben is survived by a special friend, Charlotte Stalsberg of Moline, and her family, his children, Thomas and Margaret, and a son-in-law, John. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan, a brother, Clarence, and sisters, Margaret and Jo.
