Belen O. Terronez, 93, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, at home with her husband and family by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial is Noon Thursday, January 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline, with Father Antonio Dittmer officiating. There will be a viewing for one hour prior to services. Burial is in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the family for a fund to be established in Belen’s memory.
The former Belen Olivia Lopez was born October 22, 1927, in Moline, the daughter of Tony and Belen (Gonzalez) Lopez. She married Bennie A. Terronez on May 3, 1947, in Moline.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline. “Bell” was a devoted wife, loving mother and the sweetest grandma.
Belen is survived by her beloved husband of over 73 years, Bennie; two daughters, Cynthia (Rudolph) Colino of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, and Louisa (Kerry) Ewert of Moline; three sons, Mario Terronez of Davenport, Steven (Barbara) Terronez of Geneseo, Illinois, and Timothy Terronez of Moline; 14 grandchildren, Michelle, Dianna, James, Dave, Tony, Heather, Sara, Jenny, Mary, Ann, Omelia, Nick, Cassie, and Alex; 29 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Naum Mier of Moline; sisters-in-law, Nellie Muños, Cruz Cervantes, and Delores (Richard) Esparza; many nieces and nephews; and a special family friend and caregiver, Denise Terronez. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Olga Nunez, Ophelia Ramirez, Lillian Martinez, and Hilda Garcia.
