Barbara J. Wilson

Barbara J. Wilson, 84, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A memorial gathering will be held from Noon until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12^th Street, Moline.  Graveside services will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline.  Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Barbara Jean Mosher was born March 14, 1939, in Rock Island, the daughter of Ralph and Gladys (Franklin) Mosher.  She married Charles M. Wilson and the couple had two sons.  He died March 20, 2022. 

Barb was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.  She enjoyed volunteering, most notably at the Expo Center in Rock Island and at her sons’ school.  She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting as well as arts and crafts.  She also loved fishing and camping.  Above all else, family was the most important thing to Barb.

She is survived by three children, Hermie Wilson of Rock Island, Michael and Hillary Wilson of Muscatine, Iowa, and Chrisy Ohl of Texas; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two siblings, Julie Moden and Kenny Meeks, both of East Moline; and two nieces, Melissa Gibson and Jill Woeckener, and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Peggy Colburn and Ralph “Sonny” Mosher, Jr.
