Barbara Ann Peterson

February 21, 1932 — October 28, 2019

Barbara Ann Peterson, 87, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019, in New Braunfels, Texas. Her wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service is planned and will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery, Illinois. Trimble Funeral Home and Crematory, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1932 in Manito, IL. She graduated from Yates City High School and married Laverne Peterson in 1953 at First Lutheran Church, Moline, IL. He passed away in 2011. They enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards with friends and wintering and eventually moving to South Texas. Barbara was a great cook and many were able to enjoy family gatherings and the annual fish fry at their home. She was a great listener, Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout leader and overall supporter of all she met.

Those left to celebrate her life include daughters, Ann (Randy) Eickstaedt, DeDe (John) Phleger and Sue (Mark) Buttschau; grandchildren, Amy Phleger, Allison (Kenny) Edmonds, Orrin (Chantelle) Peterson, Carey (Steve) Stockton and Daniel Eickstaedt; and 10 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her sister, Sharon Whitney; brothers, Jim (Margaret) Booth, Bob (Lisa) Booth, Pat (Becky) Booth, Mike (Lana) Booth and sister-in-law, Charlotte Booth. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Sterling and Greta Booth and brother, Richard Booth.
