Audrey “Bumpy” Jean Heuertz was born April 20th, 1947 in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Alois and Leona (Gentert) Heuertz. She married Benjamin R. Hulbert on September 3, 1966, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She sort of enjoyed raising five children. Her favorite saying was “NO.” Audrey had more idioms than Carter had pills. Bumpy had a great love for her 10 grandchildren. She fought hard as she was a feisty one. She is now resting peacefully in heaven. “Because God made you mine.”
Audrey is survived by her beloved husband, Ben Hulbert. She was the mother to Chad Hulbert of Rock Island, Brad (Gemma) Hulbert of Northeast, Maryland, Kristin (Robert) Schumacher of Durant, Iowa, Todd (Kelly) Hulbert of Moline, and Bethany (Adam) Fry of Hampton, Illinois. She was a loving grandmother to Hadyn, Patyn, and Carsyn Hulbert, Kennedy and Ally Schumacher, Kyla, Jace, and Lilly Hulbert, and Audryn and Berkley Fry. She was Sister to Darrell (Rosella) Heuertz of Roseland, Nebraska, and Marian (Denny) Weis of Omaha, Nebraska. She had many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brothers, James and Phil, and infant daughter, Toni Lee.
