Arlon L. “Bant” Anderson, 92, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, April 22, 2024, at home.
Public visitation is 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Private services will be held with burial at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Arlon Lee Anderson was born February 28, 1932, in Quincy, Mississippi, the son of Tompie and Minnie (Vickery) Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, spending one year in Germany. After his service, he worked at John Deere for over 30 years, retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Florida. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Arlon, especially his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bant is survived by his children, Carolyn (John) Perez of Moline, Deb (Jack) Slater of Moline, and Bruce Golden of Viola, Illinois; grandchildren, Tedgie (T.C. Christopher) Wright-Christopher, Jonathan (Ellie) Perez, Jeffrey (Emma) Perez, Allen (Kate) Wallace, Melissa (Clinton) Bell, and Jaclyn Slater; great-grandchildren, Caden Wright, Chloe Hodgerson, Noah Christopher, Georgia, Forrest and Theodore Perez, Jake Brandt, Adelle and Vivian Wallace, Jak Bell, and Lily and Brock Luna; and two siblings, Donald Anderson of Moline, and Linda (Dale) Mitchell of Fayette, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Michael Golden; a granddaughter, Lori Luna; and ten brothers and sisters.
