Archie H. Jared, 78, of Milan, Illinois, died Friday, May 12, 2006, in his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Archie Howard Jared was born September 17, 1927, in Swan Creek, Illinois, the son of Israel and Mary (Bridgewater) Jared. He married Shirley Messenger in 1943. He married Beverly Blunt in 1981. He was employed at Sears Warehouse for 28 years, retiring as Foreman in 1981. After retiring, he loved being a greeter at Wal-Mart in Moline for several years.
He played guitar with the Midnight Ramblers Country Western Band for many years, was an avid woodworker, and attended Heritage Wesleyan Church, Rock Island. He loved his family, and enjoyed visiting with people ? he never met a stranger.
Archie is survived by five children and their spouses, Roger and Terri Jared of Rock Island, Terry and Linda Jared of Coal Valley, Perry and Debby Jared of Rock Island, Karen Sue and Dave Felton of Milan, and Tim and Kathy Jared of Milan; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Jared of Coal Valley; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Ruth Jared of Abingdon, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Jared; a granddaughter, Erin Jared; brothers, Kenneth, Homer, and Samuel Jared; and sisters, Nellie and Venita Jared.
