Araceli Torres

Araceli Torres, 59, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1307 17th Avenue, Moline. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, beginning with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.

Araceli was born February 1, 1966, in Huejucar, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Antonio and Maria (Diaz) Calderon. She married Serafin Torres and the couple was blessed with three beautiful children prior to separating.

Araceli was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline, where her strong faith guided her throughout her life. She found joy in taking long walks, investing in real estate, and renovating homes, always embracing new challenges with determination and grace. Traveling brought her great happiness, especially visits with family in Mexico and to the beach, where she found peace and serenity.

Above all, Araceli was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Araceli is survived by her three children, Cristian (Jessica Monroy) Torres of Moline, Jennifer (Francisco Escoto) Calderon of Rock Island, and Jessica (Joel Valle, Jr.) Torres of Silvis; three grandchildren, Julian Torres, and Emiliano and Angelo Escoto-Torres; her parents, Antonio and Maria Calderon of Silvis; and siblings, Hector (Maria) Calderon, Nora Calderon, Dolores (Daniel De Santiago) Calderon, and Lorena (Jose) Haro.
