Anna Mae Hedger

Anna-Mae Hedger, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Graveside services are Noon on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee. Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Humane Society.

The former Anna-Mae Klein was born January 2, 1928, in Kewanee, the daughter of Carl and Hildegard (Schultz) Klein. She attended Kewanee grade schools before moving to Davenport and graduating from Davenport High School. She married Shelby Hedger in 1948, and the couple was married for 11 ½ years before his passing.

Anna-Mae worked for 50-years, mostly as a secretary. She worked for the Rock Island Arsenal, White Phillips Co., United High School in East Moline and the Rock Island Railroad.

She belonged to the Moline Activity Center and served on the board of directors for the Rock Island County Humane Society while her daughter was the director.

Anna-Mae is survived by grandchildren, Monty (Dawn) Patton of Austin, Texas, and Michelle (Oscar) Gomez of Moline, 12 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Hunter, Landin, Shelby, Enkeyne, and Yisak, Mercedez, Ava, Lylia, Diego, Gyel, and Enzo, and her adopted sister, Louann (Art) Bodenbender. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Shelby Lynne Ayers; and her special friend and loving companion, Gordon Wilson.
