Lombard, Illinois Anna Bach Koenig, 91, of Lombard, Illinois, died Monday, November 24, 2003, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois. Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Burial is in Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church of La Grange. The former Anna Bach was born December 6, 1911, in Chicago. She married the late Edwin F. Koenig. She graduated from Northern Illinois University and received her Masters of Education degree from the University of Illinois in 1942. Anna began her teaching career in River Forest, and taught at many schools including Rosary College, LaSalle Peru Public Schools, and St. Catherine's Prep High School in Davenport, Iowa. She retired from S.E. Gross School, Brookfield, in 1977, after teaching there for 20 years. She volunteered at Loyola Hospital, taught English as a Second Language at Christ Church of Oak Brook, was an active member of First Congregational Church of La Grange, was President of Chapter E.Z. of P.E.O Sisterhood, and was a member of the Resident's Council at Lexington Square, Lombard. Anna is survived by a daughter, Karen Ann Koenig of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip E. and Karen Koenig of Moline, and Frederick H. and Kimberly Koenig of Downers Grove, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Erick, Kurt and his wife Jaime, Adam, D. J., Jon, Kathryn, Philip, Anna, Maria, and Gabriel; three great-grandchildren, Joseph, John, and Addison; a brother, Roy; and many nieces and nephews.
