Jill Zimmer, 52, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, December 27, 2010, in her home of melanoma.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady, Davenport, Iowa, with The Reverend Peter Marty officiating. Interment is in the Church?s Memorial Garden. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, 601 21st Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to Aim at Melanoma or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
The former Jill Ann Durall was born October 12, 1958, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Judy Warning Durall. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1976, and attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. She married Richard A. Zimmer on May 19, 1996, in Moline. She was the Arbitration Assistant of the 14th Judicial Circuit Arbitration Center in Rock Island, since July, 2002. She previously had multiple positions with the Rock Island County Circuit Clerk, concluding as Supervisor of Child Support.
Jill was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, Rocky Mountain Nature Association, National Wildlife Federation, American Orchid Society, Humane Society of the United States, Defenders of Wildlife, Arbor Day Foundation, and American Association of Kidney Patients. She loved anything with the outdoors, especially Colorado, and enjoyed spending time in Chicago, gardening, animals, birds, especially hummingbirds, flowers, quilting, horses, and orchids. She loved her beloved standard poodles, Nina and Vicky.
Jill is survived by her husband, the Honorable Richard A. Zimmer; her parents, Judy and Paul Durall of Fowler, Illinois; aunts and uncles, Denny Warning of Ursa, Illinois, Stanley and Helen Sue Warning of Quincy, Bradley and Jodi Warning of Camp Point, Illinois, Patty Staff of St. Charles, Missouri, Judy Davis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Carl Durall of Ursa, Illinois, and Donald Durall of Sterling, Illinois, and their families; sisters in law, Lenore Cowdery and her husband Doug of Hampton, Illinois, and Caroline McCormick of Winter Park, Florida; and nieces and nephews, Heather and Jim Gyngard, Sgt. Heidi and Darren Richardson, and Garrett and Sean McCormick. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
