Amanda K. Shumaker, 34, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with the Reverend Gregg Hampton officiating. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to an education fund for her children, www.gofundme.com/ashumaker
Amanda was born September 26, 1981, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Richard Corder and Cathy Shelton. She graduated from Pike High School in Indianapolis, where she was active in the ROTC. She married Joshua Shumaker on October 18, 2003, in Indianapolis.
She was an administration specialist for the University of Iowa School of Dentistry for the past four years. Prior to that, she worked in the School of Dentistry at IUPUI.
She was a member of The House - A Local Church, Rock Island. She enjoyed traveling and camping, reading, sewing, and was a talented artist and cook. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Amanda. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was also a very hard worker who put everyone else first.
Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Josh; three children, Jonah, Aiden, and Adiah; her parents, Richard (Deb) Corder of Poland, Indiana, and Cathy Shelton of Indianapolis; her grandmother, Alice Woods-Lawrence of Indianapolis, and siblings, Matthew (Crystal) Corder, and Angel Corder, all of Indianapolis, and their families.
