Amanda Ackerland Mahar, 31, of Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Silvis, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 25, 2015, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo. Amanda was an organ donor, and one of her kidneys was donated to her grandfather,
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family.
Amanda Mae Ackerland was born October 3, 1984, in Moline, to Scott and Robin (Branham) Ackerland. She married Zack Mahar in 2003, and they later divorced.
Survivors include her sons, Trenton Mahar and Jayden Anderson of Fargo; her mother, Robin Ackerland of Rock Island, Illinois; her father, Scott Ackerland and his wife Jamie of Preemption, Illinois; her sister, Amber Lunsford and her children, Drew, Madison, Isabella, and Violet, of Bettendorf, Iowa; her grandparents, Marvin and Pearl Johnston of East Moline; half-siblings, Dakota and Wyatt Ackerland of Preemption; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carmelita Schmacht, her aunt, Cindy Branham, and her uncle, Tony Branham.
