Allen R. Morford

Allen R. Morford, 61, of Illinois City, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Aperion Care, East Moline, Illinois.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Illinois City United Methodist Church, 12507 238th Street, Illinois City, with The Rev. Kay Goodwin officiating. Burial is in Illinois City Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is serving Allen's family.

Allen Ray Morford was born July 21, 1957, in Muscatine, Iowa, to William Alvin and Hazel Lena (Preston) Morford. He farmed on the family farm and also did welding, sheep shearing and construction. He loved to fish and travel, was a handyman who did wood and metal working, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Allen is survived by six siblings and their families, Carole Deyo of Silvis, Illinois, William L. and Joan Morford of Sherrard, Illinois, Margaret "Dolly" Weeks of Florida, Janet and Gary Swanson of Millersburg, Illinois, and Susan Morford and partner Sylvia Strosche, and Sandra and Walter Blackard, all of Coal Valley, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bonnie and Nancy Morford; a brother, Harold "Butch" Morford; and a brother-in-law, Dewey Weeks.
