Alfred W. ?Fritz? Hufford, 83, of Milan, Illinois, died Monday, October 16, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Joe Proctor officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to any Veterans group or the Salvation Army.
Alfred Wayne Hufford was born August 29, 1923, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Claude and Jessie (Davis) Hufford. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during WW II, and married Nellie C. Reed on January 16, 1946, in East Moline. He was a welder at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, for almost 40 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed all sports, and was an avid Cubs, Illini, and Bears fan.
Fritz is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nellie, and two sons, Kent Hufford of Austin, Texas, and Mark Hufford of Los Angeles, California. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
