Alberta Ann Simmons, 65, of Moline, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is at Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

The former Alberta Ann Willers was born on April 14, 1948, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of MaryAnna Esther Schlotfeldt Willers Diehl.

Alberta was retired from employment at the Rock Island Arsenal. She enjoyed flower gardening, dollhouse collectibles, watching classic movies and dining out with friends.

Survivors include her son, Keith O'Brien (Valerie) Simmons of Charlotte, North Carolina; sisters, Robin Bowland of Bettendorf, Iowa, Teresa Loquist of East Moline, Illinois, Ruth (David) Matulka of Timberlake, North Carolina; and brothers, Hoyt (Rhonda) Diehl of Rock Island, Illinois, Dan (Janna) Diehl of Waterloo, Iowa, David (Pam) Willers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Art (Nina) Willers of Davenport, Iowa.
