Albert E. Kling, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died, Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, October 10, 2003 in Trimble Funeral Home, Moline with the Reverend Robert E. Lee officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the Rock Island County "No Kill " Animal Shelter. Albert Edward Kling was born May 17, 1914 in Rock Island, Illinois the son of Albert and Agnes (Stuhr) Kling . He attended Augustana College and St. Ambrose University. Albert married the former Georgia Frances Quinn on March 25, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. Kling was employed as a chemist at International Harvester - Farmall Works for 37 years retiring in 1972. Mr. Kling was a member of the Stone Quarry Gang in Rock Island, and was a former caddy and member of the Arsenal Golf Club. He enjoyed keeping up with current events, fixing anything, doing crossword puzzles, watching sports, business and finances, he loved the outdoors, music and dancing, and the company of his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. Kling's survivors include his wife Georgia of Moline; two daughters, Carol Murdy of Moline, and Donna Rettig of Rock Island; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Grace Kling of Rock Island; five grandchildren, Mike and Lisa Murdy of Janesville, Wisconsin, Sara and Mark Shull of Chillicothe, Illinois, Matthew and Cathy Murdy of Round Rock, Texas, Jeff and Angie Rettig of Amherst, New Hampshire, and Kevin and Heidi Rettig of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and twelve great-grandchildren.
