Agustina Vieyra, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, June 9, 2024, at home.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline.  Visitation is 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, beginning with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m.  Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline.

Agustina was born November 9, 1940, in Mexico, the daughter of Ascension Vieyra and Virginia Perez.  She married the love of her life, Rodolfo Vieyra, on May 25, 1959, and the couple had a beautiful marriage until his untimely passing on January 28, 1986.

She was an exceptional panadera “baker” in Mexico, and she was well known for her famous artisan bread.  She was always offering to feed those in need or simply those that stepped foot in her home.   

Agustina enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and gardening.   She was a very faithful woman who did her best and left the rest up to God.  

Agustina put everything into her family, raising her children as a young widow and continuing to help nurture her family by helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all the while never asking for praise or recognition.  Family was the most important thing to Agustina and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever remember her beautiful lullabies, especially “Lindo Pescadito.”

She is survived by her children (grandchildren), Mercedes Vieyra and Elio Ponce, Maria Vieyra and Jaime Martinez, Edith Vieyra and Javier Ramirez, Rodolfo Vieyra, Cristobal Vieyra and Dolores Alvarez, Irma Vieyra and Jorge Adame, Martha Yesenia Vieyra and Victor Granados, and Yasmin Vieyra and Jesus Lopez; her grandchildren, Limberth Ponce and Angelica Jimenez, Lizeth Mejia, Michelle Corona, Sergio Perdomo, Denny Perdomo (Deceased), and Baltazar Perdomo, Kenny Martinez, Leslie Hernandez, and Yoselin Martinez, Nayeli Ramirez-Rivera, Alexis Ramirez, and Andree Ramirez, Rodolfo Jr. Vieyra, Yahir Vieyra, and Elsie Vieyra, Agustina Vieyra, Cristina Vieyra, Morelia Vieyra, and Diana Vieyra, Erik Adame, Andy Adame, and Adrian Adame, Emiliano Granados and Emily Granados, and Diego Lopez, Emmanuel Lopez, and Itzayana Lopez; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Pablo Vieyra Perez, Narcizo Vieyra Perez, Cecilia Vieyra Perez, and Guadalupe Carranza.  She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Elvira Vieyra, Rodolfo Vieyra I, and Santiago Vieyra; and siblings, Carmen Vieyra Perez, Cruz Vieyra Perez, and Jose Vieyra Perez.

Agustina Vieyra, de 83 años, de Moline, Illinois, falleció el domingo 9 de junio de 2024, en su hogar.

Los servicios serán a las 10:00 a.m. del sábado 15 de junio, en la Sala Horizon de la Funeraria Trimble en Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. La visita será de 3:00 a 6:00 p.m. del viernes 14 de junio, comenzando con un Rosario a las 3:00 p.m.

Agustina nació el 9 de noviembre de 1940, en México, hija de Ascensión Vieyra y Virginia Pérez. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Rodolfo Vieyra, el 25 de mayo de 1959, y la pareja tuvo un hermoso matrimonio hasta su fallecimiento prematuro el 28 de enero de 1986.

Era una panadera excepcional en México, y era conocida por su famoso pan artesanal. Siempre estaba dispuesta a alimentar a quienes lo necesitaran o simplemente a quienes pusieran un pie en su hogar.

Agustina disfrutaba tejer, hacer ganchillo, bordar y la jardinería. Era una mujer muy fiel que hacía lo mejor que podía y dejaba el resto en manos de Dios.

Agustina lo dio todo por su familia, criando a sus hijos como viuda joven y continuando ayudando a criar a sus nietos y bisnietos, sin pedir nunca elogios ni reconocimiento. La familia era lo más importante para Agustina y sus nietos y bisnietos siempre recordarán sus hermosas canciones de cuna, especialmente "Lindo Pescadito".
