Adrian L. Winters, Jr.

Adrian L. Winters, Jr., 86, retired Moline Firefighter, died Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in Shorewood, Illinois.


A hospitality gathering to celebrate Adrian’s life will be held 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday September 10, at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe (Lower Level), 701 12th Street, Moline. The Moline Fire Department will conduct a Firefighter Bell Ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to International Association of Firefighters Local #581.

Adrian was born February 2, 1936, in Moline, the son of Adrian Sr. and Reva (Yeager) Winters. He married Sharon Krenz on November 25, 1972, in Davenport, Iowa. She died August 31, 2018. He was a firefighter for the Moline Fire Department for 34 years, retiring in 1997.


He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. He enjoyed basketball, traveling, and attending his grandchildren’s various activities.


Adrian is survived by his children, Adrian “Skip” Winters of Waco, Texas, William Alton (Patty) Winters of Phoenix, Arizona, David (Amy) Winters of Dallas, Oregon, Stacy (Stephen) Pranckus of Shorewood, and Kevin Winters of Moline; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Judith Watson of California, Margaret Mills of Moline, and Robert Winters of Minnesota; and a brother-in-law, Russell Krenz of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon Winters; a son, Douglas Winters; and a brother, John Winters.
