Graveside Services for Ada Slusher will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Stronghurst Cemetery, Stronghurst, Illinois, with the Reverend Ralph Deming of Rearton Baptist Church officiating. Memorials may be given to either the American Lung or American Diabetes Foundations.Ada Slusher, 76, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, February 29, 2004 at her home in Moline.Ada Lee Slusher was born July 11, 1927 in Scott County, Iowa the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Vyolette (Nordstrom) Slusher. She graduated from Media-Weaver High School in 1945, and the attended business college. She retired from Deere & Company after a long career as a secretary in the foreign office. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.Survivors for Ada include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Westerman of Moline, and Shirley and Riley Johnson of Monmouth, Illinois, a brother and sister-in-law, C. Edward and Betty Slusher of Media, Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alberto Bacon, Jessie Wright, and Betty Worley, and a brother, Max Slusher.
