Patricia A. Patterson, 75, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Trinity, Rock Island, with her three daughters by her side.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Randy Willers officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, where she was an active member.
The former Patricia Ann Carlson was born September 29, 1934, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Roy John and Dorothy Sanderholm Carlson. She graduated from Monmouth High School and Augustana College, Rock Island, in 1956, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She married Malcolm F. Patterson on June 4, 1966, in Moline. He died September 17, 2004. She was a substitute teacher, teacher aide and library aide in Moline School District #40 for 12 years, retiring in 1990. She previously taught school in Gerlaw, Elgin, Fulton, and Rock Island, Illinois, and was an educational consultant for R. I. Heath and Company.
Patricia was proud of her Swedish heritage and was a life-long Lutheran. She attended services all her life and participated in church activities since Junior Mission Band and Senior Luther League, and adult women?s organizations. For the past 13 years, she had been chairperson of the Salem-Willard Outreach Partnership, an organization she created. She had served as director of the children and youth choirs, and was most recently music coordinator and adult choir director. She was past president of the Willard School PTA. Family, education, music and church were most important to her, and she enjoyed reading, traveling, puzzles, cross stitch, and especially being with her granddaughters,
Patricia is survived by three daughters, Sally Patterson of Moline, Tracy Fausett and her husband Bob of Orion, Illinois, and Nancy Patterson of Moline; four granddaughters, Emily and Camryn Flippo and Chloe and Sarah Fausett; and a sister, Sandra Carlson of Springfield, Illinois.
