Lacy A. Freeman, 47, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, in his home.
Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with graveside services following at Rock Island National Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors.
Lacy Alan Freeman was born November 9, 1962, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Howard and Eleanor Craigmiles Freeman. Lacy served as a Signalman on board the USS Monticello LSD-35 from 1980 to 1983, attaining the rank of 3rd Class Petty Officer. He then served for two years in the Active Reserves and one year in the Inactive Reserves, completing 6 years of Honorable service to his country. He married Anna Matesic Schisler on June 10, 2006. He was an advertising specialist and owned L.A. Enterprises and Varsity Sports. He played lead guitar for several local bands.
Lacy is survived by his wife, Anna; four children, Mitchell Freeman of Moline, Cara Freeman of Moline, Mary Freeman of Rock Island, and Dawn Schisler of Bettendorf; and siblings and their spouses, Monica and Michael Reighard of East Moline, Hal and Kay Freeman of Davenport, Sharie Freeman of Silvis, Victor and Carolyn Freeman of Nixa, Missouri, and Mel and Cynthia Freeman of New Port Richie, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Julie White.
